Midlands businesses urged to make a song and dance about regional music awards

A West Midlands fintech is urging the region’s businesses to get behind a major awards event to celebrate Birmingham and Black Country music talent later this month.

Warwickshire-based Finecta, which connects corporate lenders to SMEs via popular accounting platforms, made the call to fellow entrepreneurs and business leaders after agreeing to provide IT and technology services to the Birmingham Music Awards.

Dubbed the second city’s answer to the Brits, the Awards will feature surprise live performances from major artists and will be hosted by BBC WM’s Natalie Graham and Henry Liston.

This year’s music extravaganza takes place on September 21at The Mill in Digbeth, and comes hot on the heels of the Commonwealth Games, which have shone a light on the Midlands’ sporting prowess, in addition to its inclusive and welcoming spirit in recent weeks.

To help the Awards, Finecta is drawing on its in house talents to deliver tech solutions aimed at enhancing admin and data processes, such as speeding up artist nomination analysis and more tailored communications for different audiences.

The business is also encouraging other firms to show their support for the Awards as part of a region-wide effort to showcase upcoming music stars.

Finecta CEO Andy Berti said his team were passionate about the need to remind the UK of Birmingham and the wider Midlands area’s talents.

“The Commonwealth Games have shown everyone just how talented this region is and its music scene is no exception with all genres covered deftly by some truly phenomenal artists. It’s time our amazing singers and musicians were given the recognition they deserve and I think theBirmingham Music Awards provide the perfect platform to do that.

“Additionally, as a growing business ourselves, we’re keen to do what we can to help the Awards scale up and really put this region on the map. Our support will help the Awards organisers spend less time on laborious admin tasks, freeing them up to focus on driving awareness of the event and attracting nominations. But it’s not just about us. We want other companies to come forward and play a part - it’s a tremendous opportunity to help put the region’s artists and your brand on the map.”

Birmingham Music Awards’ founder and former Atomic Kitten singer Jo Jeffries thanked Finecta for its support.

“Andy’s team is already making an immense difference and I’m truly grateful to them for their involvement. We’ve got big ambitions forBirmingham Music Awards and are confident it will grow into a major annual event that will draw attention to Birmingham and the Black Country’s incredible musical abilities - while catapulting upcoming artists towards national and international stardom.

“If you run a business and want to be part of a fast-evolving success story, please get in touch - there are opportunities to make a difference and help shape an event that has the potential to change lives,” she said.
